Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is a major Indian public sector oil and gas company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise and a subsidiary of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India. HPCL is involved in refining crude oil, marketing petroleum products (like petrol, diesel, LPG, aviation fuel), and producing lubricants and petrochemicals. It owns and operates large refineries in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam and has an extensive distribution network of retail outlets, LPG distributorships, pipelines, and aviation fuel stations across India.
