Old rumours of a hidden treasure at the 15th-century Asirgarh Fort in Madhya Pradesh have resurfaced recently, fuelled by the Bollywood film Chhaava, triggering a dramatic late-night treasure hunt. Videos that went viral on social media showed a large number of people digging at a plot of land adjacent to the historic fort, sparking concern among authorities. Following the incident, the Burhanpur district administration acted swiftly on Saturday, ordering a probe into the matter and imposing restrictions on entry to the area surrounding the fort to prevent further disturbances and protect the heritage site.
